Another training camp done and the season in soon beginning! I’t is going to be an exciting one for sure with some turbulence in the Norwegian XC-ski world, the world championships in Lahti, Finland and everyone is of course curious to see how the worlds best female athlete, Marit Bjørgen, will do.
Winter came suddenly to Norway and we were so lucky to be able to ski around in the forests and mountains of Sjusjøen, and not just in the Natrudstilen competition course. It was so cold though! With mild fall weather just the week before none of us were really acclimatized to training hard in such freezing conditions as – 14 accompanied by strong wind, and some changes were made to the training plan in order to preserve our precious lungs.
Despite the cold, I had so many moments of joy and happiness out there. The light was amazing, it was white gold everywhere, biathletes were prepping for their season opening this weekend and us XC-skiers were in deep technique focus. Speaking of biathletes, I met the Greek team at Natrudstilen, which is also my XC-team. They are starting their season off in Norway. So have a look for them if you’ll be following watching the races on TV!
This weekend will bee more on the urban side. Eirik and I are going to spend today teaching PT-students with AFPT. It has been a while since we did an actual project or job together, som I am really looking forward to it. So we’ll swap out the husband & wife-roles and put the lecturer hats on! The rest of the weekend will consist of some office work and training. Hopefully we’ll find some snow for our Sunday sessions!
Can I say Happy skiing?
