I am into all kinds of human performance, not just in sports and exercise, academically and business-wise as well. When I am working on science or other academia, or even just any kind of easy writing, I need to have the right work-mojo around me and as little distraction as possible.
Funnily enough, I don’t have writing-mojo at work. I think it’s because it is too social there, and questions, discussions and things I all of a sudden have to deal with just pop up. That is also exactly what I love about working at Magnat Center, healthy discussions with my colleagues. We bounce ideas off each other, discuss training, nutrition and some of us are collaborating on projects with clients, so we talk a lot about that. But sitting and reading and writing in peace? Forget it!
So I’ll retreat to a café with wifi or usually home where distractions should be few and far, but you ever sat down on you computer all super-focused on the task at hand and all of a sudden you find your self on Facebook or just browsing the web and you don’t even remember clicking on there?
I L.O.V.E the internet, what an amazing invention! However, social media and the internet itself are such time thieves, and we could all use a little help with self-control. When I discovered the Self-Control App it really increased my work efficiency and productivity.
I works so well and I have actually caught myself going into Facebook only to be blocked out and thinking there is something wrong with the Facebook-page, then going on to another page…oh, that one is down too. No, wait! The Self-Control App is on, back to work!
I really, really recommend it and just set it for 45 minutes at the time or 1-2 hours, so as not to focus on the fact that it might be 5 hours until you can go on Facebook again. And don’t pull out your phone, okay? Or just get Self-Control on your phone as well.

Happy producing and performing!
