I am ecstatic!
Today is in fact World Ballet Day and Cinnamon bun day! At the same time! Can you believe it! Coincidence? I don’t think so. It must be divine intervention or something that to day is the day of two of my absolute favorite things in the whole world.
It’s almost too good to be true, but it is actually perfect. Today unexpectedly became my regen day due to massive muscle soreness from hard training the last couple of days, and I have a small injury that needs tending to.
So instead of the planned skate intervals in Holmenkollen this morning I went for a long easy run, which made me feel a bit bummed out even though the morning weather was stunning. So light, balletic stretching, and a cinnamon bun to comfort myself seems like the perfect plans.
A side from a trip to one of our great physios at work, I have home office today. Listening to lovely, calming ballet music, I’ll be working on sorting out data for our research project at the Norwegian School of Sports Sciences. We really can’t afford mistakes with data work and it requires that I have a clear head and time to sit down with out being disturbed. I love my place of work so much, but I can’t get anything done there because there is always someone to discuss training and performance with and then time just flies. I need good computer work mojo around me to be effective!
Stay tuned for two posts coming up in the next two days though: One on genetic testing – We were honestly shocked by some of our results! And one on what type of training model/method I have been using the last 6 months and how my training periods are structured, it is not for everyone, I’ll tell you that much. But if your body that can handle it, it works great!
Twirls, spin and jump around then have a cinnamon bun!
